Can motorcycle exhaust be painted?
You can use several types of paint, just like painting a car. Apply a base coat and then a clear coat. All paint coats should be high temperature paint. A great splurge is high-heat ceramic coating as this provides a great finish.
Can you paint a suppressor?

The only way powdercoating your headers will work is if the curing temp is greater than the operating temp. I doubt any standard powder cures higher than the exhaust temps at the header. I would be more inclined to spray the headers with some high temperature paint and bake it in the oven.

If you are painting pipes with 360-degree exposure, simply spray a single wet coat of primer on the metal and wait for it to dry, which should take about 10 minutes. When spraying is impractical, brush on a single coat of brushable metal primer with an appropriate paintbrush.
